Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) adalah stem cell dewasa multipotent yang memiliki kapasitas untuk berdiferensiasi menjadi berbagai turunannya; misal: osteoblasts (tulang), adipocytes (lemak), and chondrocytes (tulang rawan). Mesenchymal stem cells biasanya terdapat di stroma sum-sum tulang belakang, namun juga ditemukan pada adiposa, hati, limpa, darah tepi, darah tali pusat, dan jaringan mesenchymal lainnya.
