IDEXX CSFV Ab Test
Accurate detection of antibodies against classical swine fever virus (CSFV)
The IDEXX CSFV Ab Test is a blocking ELISA for the detection of CSFV antibodies in swine serum or plasma. Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) or hog cholera (HC) occurs worldwide and is a highly infectious disease in swine populations, causing very serious economic losses. The virus is highly pathogenic and can cause widespread death. The disease is on the OIE List A of Diseases. The mortality of infected animals varies from 0%–100%, depending upon the virulence of the virus. Transmission occurs most frequently by oral and intranasal routes in the field; however, infection may occur by contact with viral-contaminated fomites and via abraded skin.
